Partial Dentures
Replace Missing Teeth With Some Natural Teeth Still Present
There are two types of partial dentures, one has a metal infrastructure frame that fits precisely onto prepared natural teeth. One that has no infrastructure and is a plastic structure only.
Partials are ideal in that the main goal is to restore esthetics, chewing ability and assist in maintaining the natural teeth from drifting.
The metal infrastructure partials are much longer lasting and usable. They are more preferred as they restore esthetics while retaining tooth position and chewing function and are less destructive on the remaining teeth and ridge structures.
The all plastic partial is often used to temporarily get through a loss of an anterior tooth. This enables time to allow for a more sound treatment solution, without suffering the emotional stress of having missing teeth when smiling as well as preventing teeth from drifting.
Most all partials are designed to add teeth onto in the future should the need arise.
Treatment plans will be discussed with you at our consultation so you can make an informed treatment choice.
