Denture Relines

Relines Are Necessary Periodically Due To The Fact That Your Mouth Has Changed. The Denture Doesn't Change Size But Your Mouth Does.

Most people believe we reline dentures to make them fit tighter. This in fact is not the reason for relines.

Think of 2 men crossing a frozen pond with thin ice. One man is wearing his boots while the other is on snowshoes. The man in boots falls through. The man on snowshoes makes it across.

The reason for relines is to place you on snowshoes. So that the pressure exerted by chewing forces doesn’t pound away the bone structure under the dentures. It preserves the bone by displacing the forces over an even surface area.

Often the upper improves on suction. Rarely does a lower have suction.

But we reline your dentures to assist in preserving your underlying bone structure.

There is a fee for relines.

Soft relines are primarily for lower dentures on people who have very little ridge left and their nerve structures are exposed causing pain. The soft reline provides a shock absorber as it were.

Soft relines are slightly more expensive than normal hard reline.
